Today we had our showcase event for our Music for Social Innovation project, in collaboration with The University of Edinburgh . It was a day of music, fun and celebrating this incredible project.
Currently, Limelight has delivered approximately 70 workshops to our three project areas, Erskine, Barrowfield and Annan during our first two stages of the Music as Social Innovation project.
This project set out to be a pinoneering platform for accessibility to music for vulnerable groups and that’s exactly what it has done. Music as Social Innovation has proved a vital source for people from communities to come together, make friends, be creative and make music together. It also provides employment for our two LAY researchers, who both have disabilities.
Today we had key talks from our Edinburgh University researchers showing the difference this project has made, interview findings from the project and a musical presentation from the participants from Erskine and Barrowfield. Today was a celebration of what we have achieved and showcased ability, not disability. This just the beginning!
