What’s happening now?- 19/05/2020

Hello everyone! I hope you are all keeping safe and well during this time. I thought I would further update you all on what has been going on with us all at Limelight!

The workshop team have been working hard to continue developing our schools projects into their new online format. This means our workshop leaders continuing to collaborate and pre-record footage from their homes to later be edited professionally to create online sessions. These sessions are able to be reached by children still attending school and also those at home which means they are still getting to particpate and take part in all their usual Limelight fun, all be it in a very different way! It has been vital to adapt to this ever changing way of working whilst still maintaining the importance of what we do. Allowing those who particpate in our work and projects the chance to have fun with us like they usually would has provided some much needed relief and creativity during this time.

The whole team has been continuing our weekly Zoom meetings to discuss applications, develop new project ideas and continue to work on developing our new ways of interfacing so we are able to reach the people we work with. Getting to grips with new technology, filming equipment and all sorts, we have been teaching ourselves a thing or two!

As much as we would love to be back in our usual workshop settings, singing and playing with you all and having great laughs, for now we aren’t able to do so. However that doesn’t mean we aren’t able to connect with one and another. So, whether it be through a screen or on video, we are working hard to ensure that we are still able to deliver the important work we do. We have great ideas that we are striving to achieve and pushing towards! Just you wait!

In the meantime, keep well and safe. Keep singing and keep playing.
